Göcek
Göcek is a pretty harbour town where the Mediterranean and the AegeanSeas meet. It is famous for its 6 large marinas which attractthe yachting community from all around the world. It’s also the starting pointfor many Gulet (a traditional wooden masted Caique sailingboat) Blue Cruises, you can charter the whole boat or just a cabin for aweeklong trip.
Göcek is located halfway between Köyçeğiz and Fethiyeand is easily accessible from Dalaman Airport which makes it a great spot for anight’s stopover if you have an early departure or late arrival.
Historically, it was known as Kalimche and,in legend, is the place where Icarus fell when he flew too close to the sun inthe famous Greek myth.
The town itself is small and quaint, with a walkabletown centre and lots of chic cafés, restaurants, and places to dine with greatviews looking out over the beauty of the Mediterranean and the Aegean.
